Where Are L4 And L5 Located?
Your L4 and L5 vertebrae sit in the lower part of your lumbar spine, just above the tailbone. They’re two of the most common areas we see disc bulges or nerve compression, especially if you sit a lot, lift heavy, or have an old back injury. These vertebrae help support your upper body and play a big role in bending, twisting, and stabilizing your lower back. When a disc between them bulges, it can press on the sciatic nerve, that’s why people often feel pain radiating down the leg or into the buttock. In chiropractic care, we focus on restoring motion and balance to those lower joints. By improving alignment, reducing nerve pressure, and retraining posture, we can often resolve pain and prevent future flare-ups.
